ABB robot maintenance follows the principle of "70% maintenance, 30% repair". During the operation of the robot, regular inspections and maintenance should be carried out to detect and solve problems early, achieving the goal of replacing maintenance with repair and even lifelong maintenance without major repairs.

          Timely maintenance will extend the operating life and improve the condition of ABB robots. Nowadays, the concept of "repair and maintenance" exists widely among factory administrators. Due to lack of maintenance or improper maintenance, robot malfunctions often occur. Therefore, timely maintenance is an important link to extend the service life of robots and ensure the continuous operation of equipment.

ABB Robot Routine Inspection

1. Sealing state inspection: Check whether there is oil leakage or seepage in the gearbox, wrist, etc. of the main body;

2. Cable condition inspection: Check the usage and wear of robot signal cables, power cables, user cables, and body cables;

3. Inspection of the fixing of the main body and each axis tool end: Check whether the main body and each axis tool are well fixed;

4. Inspection of limit blocks for each axis;

5. Body cleaning: Dust and clean the robot body according to the on-site situation.

The inspection of ABB robots for oil leakage is very important. If any oil leakage is found, the factory liaison should be informed promptly, explaining that the oil leakage occurred before maintenance to avoid disputes when submitting maintenance reports.

ABB robot maintenance parts replacement

1. Body oil replacement: robot gearbox, balance cylinder or connecting rod oil replacement;

2. Robot battery replacement: Check if the fixed connection of the SMB board is normal and replace the battery (3HAC044075-001/01). When the backup battery life is less than 2 months, an alarm will sound 38213 indicating low battery level

Normally, if the ABB robot power is turned off for 2 days per week, the lifespan of the new battery is 36 months, while if the robot power is turned off for 16 hours per day, the lifespan of the new battery is 18 months. For longer production interruptions, the battery shutdown service routine can extend the service life by approximately three times.
